1. Direct Website Purchases (iwvdigitalsolutions.com)

Purchases made directly from the IWV Digital Solutions website using Stripe or Google Pay are eligible for a full refund within 30 calendar days of the purchase date, no questions asked.

1.1 Eligible Purchases

  • Professional Lifetime License ($39.99 USD)
  • Academic Lifetime License ($24.99 USD)

1.2 How to Request a Refund

  • Email support@iwvdigitalsolutions.com from the email address used to make the purchase.
  • Include your order reference number (found in your purchase confirmation email).
  • State that you are requesting a refund.
  • No reason is required within the 30-day window.

1.3 Processing

  • Refund requests are processed within 2 business days of receipt.
  • Refunds are credited to the original payment method.
  • Stripe typically posts refunds within 5–10 business days; your bank's processing time may vary.
  • Upon refund, your License Key is deactivated and the App transitions to the Free Tier. Your User Data is preserved.

1.4 After 30 Days

After the 30-day window, direct purchases are non-refundable. If you are experiencing a technical issue with the App, please contact support@iwvdigitalsolutions.com before requesting a refund. We will make every effort to resolve the issue. See Section 6 for exceptional circumstances.


2. Google Play Purchases (Android)

Purchases made through Google Play are subject to Google Play's refund policy. IWV Digital Solutions does not process Google Play refunds directly.

2.1 One-Time Purchase — Professional Lifetime (Google Play)

  • Google Play provides a 2-hour self-service refund window for one-time app purchases.
  • To request a self-service refund within 2 hours: open the Google Play app > Account > Order history > select NotesXML > Request a refund.
  • This window begins at the time of purchase.

2.2 Subscription — Professional Monthly (Google Play)

  • For the first billing period of a new subscription, Google Play provides a 48-hour self-service refund window.
  • To request a self-service refund: open the Google Play app > Account > Order history > select NotesXML > Request a refund.
  • Subsequent billing periods are non-refundable except within the 2-hour window described in Section 2.1 (applied per charge).

2.3 Google Play Subscription Cancellation

  • You may cancel your $4.99/month Professional subscription at any time through Google Play.
  • Cancellation stops future billing. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Subscription payments for the current period are non-refundable except within the applicable window described above.
  • To cancel: Google Play > Subscriptions > NotesXML > Cancel subscription.

2.4 After the Self-Service Window

After the applicable self-service refund window, refund requests for Google Play purchases must be submitted directly to Google Play support at https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637. IWV Digital Solutions cannot override Google Play refund decisions.


3. Microsoft Store Purchases (Windows)

Purchases made through the Microsoft Store are subject to Microsoft's refund policy. IWV Digital Solutions does not process Microsoft Store refunds directly.

3.1 Microsoft Store Refund Window

  • Microsoft generally allows refund requests within 14 days of purchase for apps that have not been substantially used.
  • To request a refund: Microsoft Account > Order history > select the NotesXML purchase > Request a return.
  • Microsoft determines refund eligibility at its discretion.

3.2 After 14 Days

After 14 days, refund requests for Microsoft Store purchases must be submitted through Microsoft support. IWV Digital Solutions cannot override Microsoft Store refund decisions.


4. Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refund:

  • Beta Tester Licenses (provided free of charge).
  • VIP / Developer-Granted Licenses (provided free of charge).
  • Free Tier access (provided free of charge).
  • Direct purchases after the 30-day refund window.
  • Google Play one-time purchases after the 2-hour self-service window (subject to Google's policy).
  • Google Play subscription charges after the applicable refund window (subject to Google's policy).
  • Microsoft Store purchases after the 14-day window (subject to Microsoft's policy).
  • License Keys that have been shared or used in violation of the EULA.

5. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card provider without first contacting us, IWV Digital Solutions reserves the right to review and, if appropriate, deactivate the associated License Key and restrict further purchases from the associated account while the dispute is pending. If you have a legitimate concern, please contact us at support@iwvdigitalsolutions.com before initiating a chargeback — we will work with you to resolve the issue. This section does not restrict any rights you have under applicable law, including your right to dispute unauthorized charges.


6. Exceptional Circumstances

IWV Digital Solutions will consider refund requests outside the standard windows in the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Verified failure of a core App feature persisting after reasonable support attempts.
  • Duplicate purchase due to payment processing error (with documentation).
  • Academic license purchased with ineligible credentials (refund of the price difference between Academic and Professional pricing).

Exceptional circumstance refund requests must be submitted to support@iwvdigitalsolutions.com with supporting documentation. IWV Digital Solutions decides exceptional refund requests at its sole discretion. Nothing in this section limits any refund rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be contractually waived.


7. User Data on Refund

A refund does not affect your User Data. Your NotesXML NXL data files remain on your device after a refund. You may continue to access your data in the Free Tier or export it at any time using the App's export features. IWV Digital Solutions does not hold copies of your data and cannot delete it on your behalf.


8. California Residents

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any rights you may have under California law, including rights under the Consumers Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), the California Business and Professions Code, or other applicable consumer protection statutes. For California consumers, the 30-day no-questions-asked refund window for direct purchases meets or exceeds the requirements of applicable California refund disclosure laws.
